Nikki Grace (Laura Dern), a once celebrated actress, is hired for the lead role in the new film by director Kingsley Stuart (Jeremy Irons). Shortly before filming begins, Nikki and her co-star Devon Berk (Justin Theroux) learn that it is a remake: The film was shot a few years ago, but never finished because the two main actors died before filming was completed. More and more mysteries emerge around Nikki as she takes on the role of Susan Blue and fiction and reality, past, present and future begin to merge.
The cryptic psychological thriller starring Laura Dern ("Marriage Story", "Jurassic Park"), Justin Theroux ("Mulholland Drive", "American Psycho") and Jeremy Irons ("Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", "The Inseparables") with the unmistakable signature of cult director David Lynch ("Lost Highway", "Mulholland Drive"), who shot exclusively with a digital video camera, takes us into the deep abysses of the subconscious. Once again, Lynch, who was responsible for music, camera and editing in addition to production, direction and script, demonstrated the range of his skills.
