For ten years, insurance broker Michael MacCauley (Liam Neeson) has been commuting every day from his tranquil suburb to Manhattan and back. But on this day everything is different. The mysterious stranger Joanna (Vera Farmiga) sits down with him and promises him a high reward if he finds a very specific passenger for her to transport something particularly valuable. Michael receives only two clues: a false name and the destination station of the unknown man.
