The unscrupulous real estate agent Sonny Lawson receives a devastating diagnosis and wants to forestall the inevitable end. But his failed suicide attempt brings him to a psychiatric hospital, where he meets Marlon, who is as unpredictable as he is helpful. Together, the two begin a turbulent escape full of absurd ideas, plans gone wrong and pitch-black humor. With "Nobody Is Perfect", Burt Reynolds directed an unusually dark, but at the same time highly entertaining star comedy that combines black-humored satire with slapstick and bittersweet melancholy.

"Nobody Is Perfect" shows Burt Reynolds from an unusually weird side: as the director and main actor of a macabre comedy that tackles a delicate topic with speed, irony and a lot of star power. Dom DeLuise provides anarchic energy, Sally Field and Joanne Woodward give the film additional class. The result is a stubborn, courageous 70s comedy with cult potential, which stands out pleasantly from the mainstream of its time.
