Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is only playable on Nintendo Switch 2. When the software card is inserted into a Nintendo Switch console, you can play the Nintendo Switch version of the game without the additional exclusive features of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

If you already own Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo Switch, you can purchase the Upgrade Pack to play the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Important notes about storage data

• The save data cloud feature of Nintendo Switch Online is not supported by this game. However, Nintendo Switch Online members have access to a service that can be used to save save data from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and restore it via the server in the event of technical problems, loss or theft of the console. 
• If you use System Transfer to transfer your games and save data from a Nintendo Switch console to a new Nintendo Switch 2 console, all Animal Crossing: New Horizons content, including save data, will also be transferred. However, before you can continue the game as usual, your resident data must be linked to your user profile on Nintendo Switch 2.
