What is special about Tetris Effect?
Tetris Effect adds a new strategic layer to Tetris' core experience with the new "Zones" mechanics.

When rows are dissolved in Tetris Effect, a meter bar fills up in the lower left corner of the board. As long as there are a few meters left, the player can enter the ZONE. With the ZONE activated, the time stops and falling blocks at the top of the screen are frozen until the player decides to move it. Here, the player can not only free himself from critical situations. The genius of zone mechanics lies in its potential in terms of points: not only does the player get bonus points when he resolves rows in zone mode, the game also stops counting the dissolved rows at the level just played.

This gives experienced players the ability to extend the levels longer than they would normally last, which in turn leads to a larger number of resolved normal rows and Tetris rows, and that then has more points and cool new terms, such as "Octoris," "Dodecatris," and Decahexatris, when huge blocks are resolved in zone mode.

The new approach delivers a willful evolution of the game principle in one of the oldest traditions in video game history and will fantastically motivate players to boost their scores.
