The majestic expanses of the Hisui region

Your adventure takes place in the majestic expanses of the Hisui region. In this bygone era, humans and Pokémon rarely lived in harmony with each other. Over time, Hisui was renamed Sinnoh – a name you may be more familiar with.

In the center of the Hisui region, the crater mountain rises, surrounded by all sorts of areas with different ecosystems. Each of these areas has its own unique characteristics and is home to different Pokémon. One of these areas is the obsidian grassland, which is characterized by its magnificent flowers and green vegetation. This is where Pokémon seem to reside, which prefer meadows and forests.

Your base: Jubeldorf

In the Hisui region there is a place called Jubeldorf. This serves as a base for the Galactic Expedition, whose members are from numerous other regions Lumiusst to explore Hisui. The expedition consists of several squads, such as the medical squad, the security squad and the research squad.

Main character - Lumia or Lumius

As the protagonist of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you'll join the Galactic Expedition research squad. Your goal is to encounter every Pokémon species from every area in Hisui to complete the region's first Pokédex.

Meet Pokémon

Pokémon live in a wide variety of places, such as meadows, forests, or waters. You may only be able to observe certain Pokémon behaviors–or even entire Pokémon species—in the right conditions, such as at a certain time of day or in certain weather conditions.

Aim well and throw a Poké Ball

You can try to catch wild Pokémon by throwing Poké Balls at them. If you discover a Pokémon you'd like to catch, approach it carefully and try catching it with a Poké Ball. You have to aim well and throw the ball at the right moment so as not to miss your chance! If the wild Pokémon doesn't jump out of the Poké ball immediately after a successful throw, you've made it and made a successful catch attempt.

How to start a fight against a wild Pokémon

If you throw a Poké Ball containing one of your Pokémon near a wild Pokémon, a battle begins. Unlike previous Pokémon games, the battle starts immediately without switching to a special battle screen.
