The majestic expanses of the Hisui region

Your adventure takes place in the majestic expanses of the Hisui region. In this bygone age, humans and Pokémon rarely lived in harmony with each other. Over time, Hisui was renamed Sinnoh – a name you may be more familiar with.

In the center of the Hisui region rises the crater mountain, surrounded by all kinds of areas with different ecosystems. Each of these areas has its own unique characteristics and is home to different Pokémon. One of these areas is the Obsidian Grasslands, which are characterized by their magnificent flowers and green vegetation. It seems that Pokémon that prefer meadows and forests are mainly found here.

Your base: Jubeldorf

In the Hisui region there is a place called Jubilee Village. This serves as a base for the Galactic Expedition, whose members have come from numerous other regions to explore Hisui. The expedition is made up of several squads, such as the medical squad, the security squad and the research squad.

Main character - Lumia or Lumius

As the protagonist of Pokémon Legends: Arceus , you'll join the Galactic Expedition research squad. Your goal is to encounter every Pokémon species from every area in Hisui to complete the region's first Pokédex.

Similarities with Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl

Even though Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set in a very different era than Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, there are some comparisons that can be made between them.

Encounter Pokémon

Pokémon live in a wide variety of places, such as meadows, forests, or bodies of water. You may only be able to observe certain Pokémon behaviors—or even entire Pokémon species—under the right conditions, such as at a certain time of day or in certain weather conditions.

Aim well and throw a Poké Ball

You can try to catch wild Pokémon by throwing Poké Balls at them. If you spot a Pokémon you'd like to catch, approach it carefully and try to catch it with a Poké Ball. You'll have to aim well and throw the ball at the right moment so as not to miss your chance! If the wild Pokémon doesn't jump out of the Poké Ball immediately after a successful throw, you've done it and made a successful Lumiuschen catch attempt.

How to start a battle against a wild Pokémon

If you throw a Poké Ball containing one of your Pokémon near a wild Pokémon, a battle will begin. Unlike previous Pokémon games, the battle then starts immediately without switching to a special battle screen.
