In 1864, the American Civil War reaches its climax: President Abraham Lincoln appoints General Ulysses S. Grant as commander-in-chief of the Union troops, the advocate of unconditional war. As the Southern Army soon suffers from supply shortages and dwindling troops, Confederate General John C.
