This is the classic youth film of the 60s. It reflects the habits and longings of an entire generation. Two teenagers (Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper) set off on their motorcycles on an odyssey from coast to coast. They discover the different faces of the big cities and the small towns, make experiences in a hippie commune, with drugs and sex in New Orleans' relevant milieu.
Particularly remarkable about this film is also the extraordinary portrayal of Jack Nicholson, who made his breakthrough with this role. Easy Rider was the official United States entry to the 1969 Cannes Film Festival. It was awarded best film by a new director (Dennis Hopper).
"A courageous, unusual confession of life with moving images" - Rex Reed.
