Hatred and brute force characterize the everyday life of Manu (Raffaëla Anderson) and Nadine (Karen Bach). After Manu has been raped several times, she shoots her brother in the heat of the moment. Meanwhile, Nadine kills her roommate in an argument and has to watch as her best friend is shot. On their escape, both women meet and decide to take revenge together against a society characterized by brutality and harshness. The killing alone brings them the sadistic satisfaction that keeps them alive. Virginie Despentes directed the film adaptation of her debut novel together with Coralie Trinh Thi, who brought in her experience in the porn industry. The leading roles were cast with the two actresses Raffaëla Anderson and Karen Lancaume (Karen Bach). The violent drama quickly developed into a scandalous film after it was indexed not only in France due to explicit scenes. BAISE-MOI has been nominated for the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival, among others.
