In 1950, numerous martial arts masters flock to Hong Kong to open martial arts schools. Among them is the Wing Chun master Ip Man, whose martial art is unique. He remains undefeated and quickly gains fame, which attracts the attention of Zheng Delong, the ruler of the infamous Kowloon Walled City. Threatened in his position of power, he does everything he can to get rid of Ip Man and falsely accuses him of a crime.
