In the late 13th century, warriors of the Mongolian Empire devastated entire nations on their campaign to conquer the East. The island of Tsushima is all that still exists between the Japanese mainland and a huge Mongolian invasion fleet led by the unscrupulous and cruel General Khotun Khan.

The first wave of the Mongol attack leaves the island on fire and samurai warrior Jin Sakai survives as one of the last surviving members of his clan. He is determined to do whatever it takes to protect the population at all costs and to reclaim his home. He must abandon the traditions that made him a warrior in order to take a new path – the path of the Spirit – and wage an unconventional war to regain the freedom of Tsushima.

The Ascension of the Spirit

Jin was raised and trained as a samurai. When the Mongols defeated the Samurai Forces in no time, Jin's world was shaken. He is confronted with the most difficult decision of his life: either he honors the tradition and customs of the samurai and continues to fight in a fight he cannot win, or he leaves the path of the samurai to protect the island and its people at all costs.

On his way to reclaiming Tsushima, Jin needs the help and support of old friends and must forge new unusual alliances. He must say goodbye to all traditions, become a new warrior and protect what is left of his homeland and its inhabitants at all costs.
