Dragon Quest VIII: The Enchanted King's Journey tells the classic story of the Dragon Quest series in Europe as a handheld version: with two additional playable characters, even more side quests, a novel photo mode, and the ability to fight terrifying monsters on the go.
The court jester Dhoulmagus appears at Trodain Castle, and with that begins the whole mess: the rogue antics rip steals the king's scepter and abuses his magical powers to turn the ruler into a troll, his princess into a horse and all the castle inhabitants into plants. Only one guardian escapes the curse. It is now up to him to save the kingdom to which he has sworn allegiance. He follows the trail of destruction that Dhoulmagus leaves behind and roams the various countries of the empire to search for allies and defeat monsters. So will the hero regain the sceptre, restore order, and return the kingdom to former glory and glory? This depends solely on the skill of Nintendo 3DS players.
