Crash through walls, dig tunnels with your fists, knock yourself right into the ground, and even tear pieces from the environment that you can then swing around and throw – the more you destroy, the more secrets are revealed.
• Layer by Layer - Go deeper and deeper underground and discover an underground world that has more to offer than a superficial glance would suggest. Lushly overgrown lagoons, enormous gorges and even icy tundra – every single layer is full of surprises. And each of these shifts is home to residents who are having trouble with the Void Company and need help.
• Oh, Banana! - In each layer there is an abundance of golden gifts that are worth unearthing - first and foremost the Banandium jewels. Collect these delicious treasures and earn skill points that can be used to increase DK's health, the power of his strikes, and learn new skills.
There are bushes of Banandium Gems to be found, so rummage (even destructively) through every nook and cranny and complete challenges that arise throughout your adventure to knock off as many jewels as you can.
• Unleash the bananzas! - With the help of the Bananzas – ancient, ancestral powers from the realm of the underground – Pauline's singing can transform DK into new animal forms. These transformations don't last forever, though, so use them wisely and collect gold to keep your banana energy replenished.
• Fun for two in KO-OP mode - Share a Joy-Con 2 controller with a friend who is playing Pauline's part. Fire voice attacks from the mouse controls to assist DK in combat or destroying the terrain. With Gameshare, you can also invite a friend to join in co-op sessions where everyone can play on their own console – locally or online*! Only a single copy of the game is needed for this.
• Fashion Courage - Swap fossils revealed during your in-depth excursions for fashionable outfits - including sassy headwear, cool ties and gorgeous fur colors! Put together outfits for Donkey Kong and Pauline yourself. Not only to make them look good, but also to give them advantages, such as reduced damage from enemies or faster swimming ability.
• Meissle Masterpieces - When you feel like taking a break from your adventure underground, get creative in DK Artist mode. Use the mouse mode to carve, model, paint to your heart's content and become a master sculptor.
