Die Brut des Adlers (DVD)

He had been warned. Nevertheless, Mike ventures to the desert island, which he may not leave alive. On a secret mission from a millionaire, he is supposed to steal the most precious commodity on the island from the top of a bare rock: the brood of a pair of white-tailed eagles, the last specimens of an otherwise extinct species. Islander Malden, a lone fighter with a dark past, senses the impending danger. Suspiciously, he watches every step of the intruder, disguised as a photographer, and warns him to stay away from the rock. The bought thief Mike systematically works out a plan until he succeeds in luring Malden to the mainland. But Mike has gambled too high. Because when he abseils down from the high breeding ground of the eagles, a silent, deadly weapon is pointed at him.

Director Philippe Mora directed a sympathetic eco-thriller in which Hauer defends an eagle's clutch against egg-hungry collectors as a loner armed with a crossbow. He not only relied on suspense, but also on adventure and eroticism. Above all, a once again sovereign acting Hauer gives a lot of pleasure in this film.
