Cosmetic surgery and money, lots of money – that's how yuppie doctor Dr. Ben Stone (Michael J. Fox) imagines his future on the way to Hollywood. But a fatefully missed motorway slip road and a garden fence mowed down by his Porsche earn him community service in the hospital in the small-minded village of Grady. The initial reluctance of the city dweller soon turns into a liking for country life – not least because of the charismatic Lou. But Ben has to decide: the rich and beautiful of Beverly Hills or the tranquil life in the American hinterland.

The virtuoso character actor Michael J. Fox shines in this quirky small-town comedy with the sympathetic love story - the cult comedy by director Michael Caton-Jones (THIS BOY'S LIFE) shines with successful dialogue wit and the great interaction of the actors, including Julie Warner, Bridget Fonda and Woody Harrelson.
